What a crazy USTREAM broadcast I did on Friday!
I was gifted a bag of dyed paper towels by someone who left them next door at the chocolate shop (Alyssa, was it you??? :) ) and I decided to try using them with the ScanNCut to create something fun: A decorative table topper/plate ... it can hang too *wink*
The paper towels were ironed flat and then to an iron on stabilizer and then cut by the ScanNCut Machine.
The cut pieces were adhered with Golden's Regular Gel Matte and then outlined with Viva Colour's Graphite Paper Pen to give it a stained glass look. I then poured some resin over the top of the board to protect it and make it shine. So fun!
Here is that USTREAM live broadcast:
I wanted to showcase, in a little more detail, how I cut the pieces with the Brother ScanNCut machine so I decided to cut another quilt pattern but this time with paper.
I thought I'd share this week, what's coming to the Studio in the near future.
First up, Dina Wakley's new line from Ranger. I saw Dina at CHA and had to take a pic of her in front of her sample boards in the Ranger booth. So excited for her! Hi Dina!
Love her new stamp line and love the colours of Dina's new line of paint. Yummy!
I know you're just as excited as I am to create with all the fabulous product Dina has designed.
Here are are a couple of more pics, courtesy of Dina Wakley.
It's great to be home and back in the studio although, I much preferred the warm weather of California. Sure can't wear my sandals today! hehe I had a wonderful time teaching Pan Pastels last Saturday. We had a lot of fun! Take a look at what was created.
If you're interested in learning how to use Pan Pastels, give the studio a call and we can set up a private or group class.
I had another great day enjoying the sun and surf and a little bit of sweetness! hehe
I'm looking forward to what today brings.
I've been gathering all kinds of fun techniques and ideas that I can't wait to share with you.
I've even been creating some quick sketches in my sketch journal.
I still have a day of adventure but I will be back in the studio tomorrow and remember, tomorrow night is Art Journaling Night. So, please join me and some fellow journalistas. We always have a great time! *giggle*
Art Journaling Night Love to Art Journal? Drop in and play with your journals. $2/hour. No formal instruction but lots of chatting and sharing. Like to join us? Contact the studio to reserve your table space. 519 267 6620

Can you hear me singing that tune at the top of my lungs?
That's right... I'm off to sunny California for the CHA Mega Show! I'm leaving tomorrow and you'll never guess, I'm going First Class!
Awwww the life. I'll be flying thousands of kilometres in the air, in my own personal "pod", drinking champagne and watching whatever movie I want.
But don't worry, while I'm away Jen will be managing the studio.
Studio hours will remain the same with the exception of tomorrow, Friday January 10th. The studio will be closed at 5:00 pm and there will be no evening broadcast.
Ta ta for now Everyone! (Waving the royal wave, hehe!)

I think I've got doodling on the brain! hehe I continued to create some more doodles after my USTREAM broadcast on Friday and I wanted to share them with you. I doodled with a black marker and added colour using Peerless Watercolors.
Here are some closer looks of my doodle (with added colour) I created on New Year's Day!
I've had requests to create doodling classes. With doodling on the brain, your requests may become a reality! *wink*
I've been doodling in the New Year and thought I'd doodle a little something for my studio window. Happy New Year! hehe
The Stretched Burlap Canvas was prepped some black gesso and then doodled with a white Montana Paint Pen. Colour was added with Silks by LuminArte .... love these (as you know!!) especially on a dark surface. Stunning!
Thanks so much for joining me as I created this on USTREAM. Here is the recording of tonight's broadcast. Enjoy and Have a creative day!!
